Forlorn hope is a military term that comes from the Dutch verloren hoop, literally "lost heap", and adapted as "lost troop".
Obama's zealous army of henchmen have been referred to as Brownshirts, or sometimes Greenshirts.
I think we should call them Redshirts, because you just know he'll throw anyone under the bus that's outlived their usefulness to him.
