I'm not saying we shouldn't help. Quite the contrary, WE are the ONLY nation on Earth capable of providing aid on such a tremendous scale. Unfortunately this will cost the, already struggling taxpayer. It pains me that Haiti must be the recipient of these funds. (not that I wish the innocent of any nation ill) but we've sent plenty of money to that slum of a country for too long. I'm sure most of it went right into their corrupt and thieving leaders' pockets.

Some, those that consider overpopulation a huge problem, say that earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes,and epidemics are just nature's way of scratching off the itch of the lice we call humanity. Bible-thumping moron Pat Robertson stunned the world by stating that the earthquake was "God's Vengance". Obviously this man is a kook, and I generally dismiss the sewage which spews from his mouth, but he does raise one interesting point. "That island of Hispaniola is one island. It is cut down the middle; on the one side is Haiti on the other is the Dominican Republic," he said. "Dominican Republic is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etc. Haiti is in desperate poverty."
The quake was felt in the Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti, but no major damage was reported there. What's up with that?

Sure this is old news already, but this is my first crack at it.
"Dingy Harry" described Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign as a light-skinned African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

Obama, asked about the controversy in a TV One interview, said Reid "used some inartful language in trying to praise me."
And don't forget, Joe Biden publicly shared his own similar insight into Obama's popularity during the campaign, and it didn't keep him from getting selected to be Obama's running mate. Biden omitted to note, however, that in addition to being clean, Obama was only Negro when he wanna be.
Were these comments out of line or offensive? perhaps. But you must admit there lies some truth in those statements. There's more white-boys lustin' after Halle Berry than Lawanda Page... and Barrack do change his voice when he speaks in "tha hood".

Bottom line: Should Harry Reid resign? Yes....but not because of the Obama race comments. He needs to go because he's an incompetent boob that continues to ass-rape the constitution.

Poverty Doesn’t Cause Crime

Poverty doesn’t cause crime -- Crime causes poverty (the problem is that those criminals, like Geithner,Blankfein,Dodd,Rubin,and Barney Frank,who destroyed the economy,are either members of the OBAMA administratiion,or its supporters).

The recession of 2008-09 has undercut one of the most destructive social theories that came out of the 1960s: the idea that the root cause of crime lies in income inequality and social injustice. This same theory is often employed by the "Libs" to defend those who would perform terrorist acts against our great nation.
If the poverty-causes-crime theory were true, this sudden rise in unemployment would surely be accompanied by at least some measurable increase in crime. Instead the opposite has happened.
I believe one huge factor is that gun ownership has soared across the country since Obama was elected.
Another overlooked factor in the decrease in crime is self-deportation. Illegal aliens make up a huge amount of crime. The illegals get counted on the crime side but not on the unemployment or population side…much of these numbers are artificial if one looks at “citizens”. But you won’t hear that from those pushing amnesty.
Of course the seemingly endless time extensions of unemployment payments to former job seekers may also have a lot to do with it.

The theory that a bad economy spurs crime only works if the criminal is that "Frog" from Les Miserables, the guy who stole a loaf of bread to feed his family.
If the criminal is selling drugs on the street corner, the probability is he's just making money to buy "bling" or new sneakers.

Here’s a story to illustrate the White House stimulus spin on the unemployment numbers:

A 300 pound man walks into his doctors office for his yearly checkup. After a thorough goings-over, the doctor says to the man, “Sir, you need to lose weight if you wish to remain healthy.” Of course, the man agrees and promises the doctor he will immediately start a diet.

Exactly one year passes and the man finds himself back in the doctors office again. When he gets on the scale he tips it at 320lbs. The doctor says. “Sir, you’ve gained 20 pounds, I thought you were going to go on a diet.” To which the man responds, “I did lose weight doctor, if I hadn’t gone on that diet, I would have weighed 340 pounds.”

There are many problems with the White House claims. Let’s start with just the top ones:

• The economy continues to shed jobs. The Administration’s economists claimed that passage of the package would keep the unemployment rate at about 8 percent. Since the passage of the “stimulus,” however, more than 2.7 million jobs have been lost, as early October data showed. Any job numbers touted by the Administration will have to be seen against this background.
  
• “Indirectly” saving/creating jobs. The White House’s “indirect” job creation number is taking their bogus metric of counting “jobs saved/created” to a whole new level. One can indirectly claim credit for anything. Buy a lot of hamburgers? You personally “indirectly saved or created” five jobs at McDonalds.
  
• “Saved/created” metric will overstate impact. Leaving “indirect” job creation aside, the “saved/created” metric is so utterly flawed (as even President Obama’s chief economist Christina Romer admitted saying: “It’s very hard to say exactly because you don’t know what the baseline is, right, because you don’t know what the economy would have done without it.” ) So even if they scrubbed the data for three weeks to prevent the massive errors found in the first batch of data, the numbers will be highly inflated because the underlying premise is flawed.
  
  
• Saving/creating government jobs. The data will show that the bulk of the jobs “saved/created” are government jobs - mostly jobs in the unproductive sector of the economy, furthering no economic growth, and preventing necessary streamlining of an already bloated bureaucracy. Ultimately, the package is propping up government at the expense of taxpayers.
  
• Strings attached only aggravate the problem. State and local governments are beginning to feel the strings attached to the federal “stimulus” dollars. Several provisions in the “stimulus” package prevent lawmakers from making certain budget cuts or adjustments that would alleviate fiscal strain. In the case of Washington state, the "maintenance of effort" provisions in the Recovery Act prevent the state from adopting eligibility standards for Medicaid that are more restrictive than those in effect on July 1, 2008, and education budget reduction restrictions also apply. Most states failed to quantify the restrictions. The likely result as states work to fix their budget problems: tax increases which will further depress economic growth and kill jobs.
  
• Taxpayers pay steep price. Even if you were to grant the Administration the 650,000 jobs created – using the roughly $150 billion figure of “stimulus” funds spent, the cost per job “created/saved” would come out to more than $230,000. Not exactly a bargain.

House Democrats blocked the public from attending the unveiling ceremony of their health-care bill Thursday morning, allowing only pre-approved visitors whose names appeared on lists to enter the event at the West side of the Capitol.

The West side of the Capitol is traditionally open to the public. But the entrances were blocked off Thursday morning by metal fences, with Capitol police officers standing next to staff members holding clipboards with lists of approved attendees.

I guess when they said "most transparent administration ever", they were referring to the fact that any sane person with a brain would be able to see right through their lies and Bull Shit.

Cash For Clunkers: Taxpayers paid 24K per car!

The average rebate was $4,000. But the overwhelming majority of sales would have taken place anyway at some time in the last half of 2009, according to Edmunds.com. That means the government ended up spending about $24,000 each for those 125,000 additional vehicle sales.

I guess the only good thing about "Cash For Clunkers", is that it took so many Obama/Biden bumper stickers off the road.

The Society of Environmental Journalists held a conference in Madison, Wisconsin questioning why mainstream journalism (AKA the state-run media) was dying.
Former Vice President Al Gore -who never allows journalists questions- was giving his first Q & A in 4 years.
Phelim McAleer, the director of Not Evil Just Wrong, asked Gore about the British Court Case which found his documentary An Inconvenient Truth had nine significant errors.
McAleer asked that given Al's documentary is being shown in schools – does he accept the errors and has he done anything to correct them?
Gore declined to address the issue and McAleer continued to press for a straight answer.
How did his "fellow journalists" react? The result is alarming for the future of journalism. The response of the Society of Enironmental Journalists was not to applaud one of their own for bringing truth to power but instead they decided it was their role to protect Al Gore from An Inconvenient Question, and Phelim's mic was shut off.
